Dr. MORGANasked the Minister of Labour whether she is aware that unemployed residents in Paddington have to report at the Employment Exchange at Marylebone; and whether she will consider the advisability of securing accommodation for an Employment Exchange in the borough of Paddington as soon as possible?
§ Miss BONDFIELDThe position of the Edgware Road (Marylebone) Exchange which is situated within a few hundred yards of the boundary of the Borough of Paddington was decided, having regard to the general distribution of insured population in the areas concerned. I am of course anxious that no unnecessary 1747W inconvenience should be inflicted on applicants but I do not feel that there is at the moment a case for the opening of a new Exchange as suggested.
