asked the Secretary of State for India whether it has been decided to extend the term of office of the present Governor of the Central Provinces?

Sir Montagu Sherard Dawes Butler, K.C.S.I., C.B., C.I.E., C.V.O., C.B.E., Indian Civil Service, who will complete five years' tenure of the Governorship of the Central Provinces on 25th January next, has tendered his resignation with effect from 29th November, 1929, which the King has been pleased to accept. His Majesty has been pleased to re-appoint Sir Montagu Butler as Governor of the Central Provinces after a short period of leave. In the interval before Sir Montagu Butler resumes the appointment, Mr. Shripad Balwent Tambe, Senior Member of the Executive Council of the Governor of the Central Provinces, will act as Governor.
