asked the Secretary of State for India whether, in view of the fact that no orders have been issued under the Ordinance promulgated last April enacting the provisions of the

ties of wheat imported from the Argentine for the years 1927 and 1928, and up to date this year?

The following table shows the total quantity of wheat (grain) and of wheat meal and flour ex pressed in equivalent of grain, imported into the United Kingdom and registered as consigned from the Argentine Republic during the years 1927 and 1928 and the first nine months of 1929.

Public Safety Bill rejected by the Legislative Assembly, and in view of other circumstances, the Government will consider the advisability of allowing the Ordinance to lapse?

These Ordinances have a currency of six months at the end of which period they expire. They can, of course, be re-promulgated if necessary. The Public Safety Ordinance expired on 11th October.
