HC Deb 07 November 1929 vol 231 c1275W
Mr. WISE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the terms of reference of the Royal Commission on the Civil Service are intended to enable the Com mission to deal with the question of the admission of women to the diplomatic and consular services on the same terms as men?

Mr. SNOWDEN

The terms of reference to the Royal Commission are, in my view, wide enough to enable it to deal with this amongst other questions of organisation, recruitment and remuneration in the Civil Service.
