Mr. SNOWDENThe quantity of artificial silk yarn on which duty was actually paid during the three months1276W ended 30th September, 1929, was approximately 14,082,160 pounds, and during the three months ended 30th September, 1925, was 4,288,316 pounds. The latter figure, however, only includes two months' payments, as the duty only came into force on 1st July, 1925, and the accounts for duty are made up monthly and paid after the end of the month.
