Mr. HENDERSONHis Majesty's Government have decided to ratify the following instruments:
Convention for the Suppression of the International Trade in Arms and Ammunition and in Implements of War, 1925.
Declaration regarding the territory of Ifni, 1925.
Protocol for the Prohibition of the use in War of Asphyxiating, Poisonous or other Gases, and of Bacteriological Methods of Warfare, 1925.
Convention for the Execution of Foreign Arbitral Awards, 1927.
Convention and Protocol relating to Economic Statistics, 1928.
Optional Clause Statute of the Permanent Court.
Convention for the Suppression of Counterfeiting Currency, 1929.
His Majesty's Government do not propose to sign and ratify the protocols and amendment of Article 16 of the Covenant of 1924 and 1925.
The question of the signature and ratification of the General Act of Arbitration is at present under consideration. All other instruments concluded under the auspices of the League have been signed and, where necessary, ratified by this country, with the exception of certain international labour conventions. In regard to the latter I would suggest that if the hon. Member requires information as to the policy of His Majesty's Government, he should put a question to the Minister of Labour.
