HC Deb 04 November 1929 vol 231 c631W
Mr. MANDER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the Government will give an undertaking that the election as judges of the Permanent Court of International Justice of the legal advisers of Foreign Offices will not be supported in future?

Mr. HENDERSON

I consider it highly undesirable to lay down any such hard-and-fast rule as the hon. Member suggests. Each case must be dealt with on its merits with a view to securing the election of the most suitable candidate.
