asked the First Lord of the Admiralty how many apprentices completed their training in His Majesty's Dockyard, Devonport, during the years 1925, 1926, and 1927, respectively; and how many of these have been retained in Devonport Dockyard as hired men since completing their apprenticeships in each of the years mentioned?

The numbers of apprentices who completed their apprenticeship in the years 1925, 1926, and 1927 were 163, 137, and 81, respectively; of these there are now retained in the dockyard service, 11, 82, and 61.
