HC Deb 14 November 1927 vol 210 cc649-50W
Colonel DAY

asked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been called to the small lighted obelisks placed in the centre of busy cross-roads or streets in Continental cities; and whether he has considered the advisability of the introduction of similar small lighted obelisks in the London area?

Colonel ASHLEY

As the hon. Member is aware, lighted erections, somewhat similar, as I understand his question, to those which he has in mind, have been placed at road junctions on some of the new arterial roads. If they prove their usefulness in the conditions of traffic prevailing in the London area, they will, no doubt, be added to.
