HC Deb 09 November 1926 vol 199 c907W
Mr. GERALD HURST

asked the Minister of Health what result has accrued from his representation to the Stepney Union as to the impropriety of its action in requiring candidates for the post of dispenser to join a trade union approved of by the guardians?

Mr. NEVILLE CHAMBERLAIN

As I have informed my hon. and learned Friend the general question involved in such cases as the one to which he refers is under consideration by the Government, and in the circumstances it did not seem to me that any useful purpose would be served, at the present time, by making representations in this particular case.
