Mr. CHAMBERLAINAs I informed the hon. Member in reply to a question on the 23rd November last, there is statutory requirement for the giving of security by officers in the case of all the principal classes of local authorities. I may add that it is the practice of a district auditor to draw attention to cases where adequate security is not given by officers whose accounts are subject to his audit.
