§ Mr. MACLEANasked the Minister of Pensions whether he is aware that Mrs. Morrison, mother of the late Private John Morrison, No. 18097, Dublin Fusiliers, was granted a pension of 8s. per week for life, to take effect from 1st May, 1917; that this pension was later raised, by 1s. 7d., to 9s. 7d. per week; that this pension was completely stopped in May, 1924, and the only reason given her was that her son was too young; that Morrison was 25 years 734W and six months of age when he was killed; and that Morrison was the only support of his mother; and whether he will see that this pension is restored to Mrs. Morrison, with payment of arrears?
§ Major TRYONI find that in this ease the pension previously in issue was stopped (in the course of review of this and other pensions of the same class) on the failure of the claimant to establish her son's age and other information which would justify the award. Facilities were given her to produce the necessary evidence in support of a claim to pension, but correspondence from the Ministry failed to elicit any reply, and on investigation it was found that she had removed from her previous address and had omitted to intimate any new address to the Ministry. In these circumstances, no further action could be taken. I am, however, prepared to review the circumstances of the case if the hon. Member will furnish me with Mrs. Morrison's present address.
