HC Deb 25 February 1926 vol 192 c733W
Mr. GROVES

asked the Secretary of State for Air if he will inquire into the circumstances attending the refusal of pension to Albert Munns, No. 330985, late of the Royal Air Force, who was discharged with hammer toes, on the grounds that such disability is due to constitutional causes?

Sir S. HOARE

I have made inquiries, and find that the facts are as stated by the hon. Member. The ex-airman's case was considered by a surgical specialist and by the unit medical officer, both of whom agreed that his disability originated before his enlistment, and that its progress was not due to Service conditions. This opinion was corroborated by a board of three medical officers who invalided him from the Service, and was upheld by the medical authorities of the Air Ministry on appeal.
