HC Deb 15 December 1926 vol 200 cc2941-2W
Colonel DAY

asked the Home Secretary what action has been taken by the Metropolitan Police authorities with a view to dealing with cases of obstruction, due to the practice of touting for customers outside ladies' clothing shops in various parts of the Metropolis?

Captain HACKING

The police are taking all possible steps to check this practice where it gives rise to obstruction. Proceedings are taken in a large number of cases, but the efforts of the police would be assisted if persons who are annoyed were more ready to come forward as witnesses at- the police court.
