§ Captain BRASSasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the fact that the former diplomatic staff of His Majesty's Embassy in Petrograd have been deprived of the use of their property for seven years past, and there seems little prospect of such property being restored to them in the near future, he will consider favourably any compensation being afforded them by 535W His Majesty's Government as regards their furniture and their other personal belongings?
Mr. SAMUELThe former diplomatic staff of His Majesty's Embassy at Petrograd have received from His Majesty's Government, in respect of furniture left behind when the diplomatic mission to Russia was withdrawn, compensation in the form of advances which will be repayable if and when they obtain compensation from the Soviet Government.
