§ Captain ELLIOT:The appended table shows the sums allocated to date from the grant of £150,000 provided under Section 3 of the Corn Production Acts (Repeal) Act, 1921:
£ Scholarships for Children of Agricultural Workers, 5 years at £3.000 15,000 Women's Rural Institutes. 5 years at £3.000 15,000 Edinburgh and East of Scotland College Farm 8,000 Post Graduate Scholarships— 9 at £100–£120—maximum for 5 years 5,400 Animal Diseases Research Association 3,500 Royal (Dick) Veterinary College 3,440 Perthshire Education Authority —Continuation Classes 750 Chief Costings Officer—to enable completion of work 250 £51,340 As the expenditure of this money will be spread over a period of at least five years, it has been thought advisable not to allocate the whole of the grant at present to the possible exclusion of urgent and meritorious claims for assistance which may arise at a later date.
