HC Deb 04 April 1922 vol 152 c2060W
Captain TERRELL

asked the Lord Privy Seal whether, in view of the promised official inquiry, he proposes this year to proceed with the Summer Time Bill?

Mr. SHORTT

I presume by official inquiry my hon. Friend means the further discussions which it will be necessary to have with the French and Belgian Governments in regard to the period of summer time. The Government propose to proceed with the Summer Time Bill this Session, as the powers under the Act of 1916 expire this year, and it is accordingly necessary to make provision for bringing summer time into operation next year.
