HC Deb 29 March 1920 vol 127 c910W
Major KELLEY

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if the Government are prepared to enact that all old age pensioners be allowed to earn wages and thus supplement their old age pension from the State without such wages disqualifying them from receiving their old age pension?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I have no reason to think that this reversal of the provisions both of the original Act and of the Act of last year would be generally acceptable, and I cannot undertake to introduce legislation on the subject.
