HC Deb 29 March 1920 vol 127 c910W
Mr. RENWICK

asked the First Commissioner of Works whether, during the continuance of the serious shortage of labour in the building trade, orders will be given to suspend all but urgently needed repair work on Government buildings?

Sir A. MOND

The necessity for avoiding any unnecessary interference with the building labour available for housing is fully recognised and the building programme of my Department as regards both new works and repairs is being restricted entirely to works of pressing urgency.
