HC Deb 08 July 1920 vol 131 c1701W

Mr. RENDALL asked the Minister of Health whether, under the Increase of Rent and Mortgage Interest (Restrictions) Act just passed, any increase in rates which has been made as from 25th March last, and demand notes where of have only just been delivered, can be added to the rent from the date of increase, or only after four weeks' notice has been given; and, if not, whether he proposes to take any course which will relieve landlords from bearing such increased burden?

Dr. ADDISON: Under Section 3 (2) of the Act an increase of rent made on account of an increase of rates may take effect after one clear week's notice.
