HC Deb 25 November 1919 vol 121 c1662W
Mr. T. GRIFFITHS

asked the Post master-General whether he has received any complaints from the Cardiff district regarding the telephone service; whether he is aware that a firm of solicitors in Pontypool have complained to the district manager, Post Office Telephones, Cardiff, to the effect that they have been repeatedly cut off after having secured communication with Newport and that on seven or eight occasions on trunk calls to London, after being informed that connection was established, it was a considerable time before communication was secured and then communication was cut off before the conversation was finished; whether he is aware that, in reply to complaints made at the time, the supervisor at Cardiff denied that the subscribers had been cut off; and whether he will have full inquiry made into the working of the system in the district referred to?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

I am having a full investigation made, and will write to the hon. Member.
