HC Deb 18 November 1919 vol 121 c394W
LIEUT.-Colonel ROYDS

asked the Minister of Health if, in view of the small number of houses being built under the Government housing scheme and of the great importance of speeding up the provision of such houses, he will be prepared to consider a scheme for the erection of houses by and at the cost of private enterprise in consideration of a Governments subsidy; and whether he is aware that under such a scheme houses could be built more quickly, at a less cost, and with a smaller loss to the State than under the present housing scheme?

Dr. ADDISON

The suggestion made by the hon. and gallant Member is being considered together with other proposals for expediting the progress of the housing schemes.
