HC Deb 17 November 1919 vol 121 c650W
BRIGADIER-General COLVIN

asked the Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the continued cost of living, the 20 per cent, bonus on pensions for disability will be further extended?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON - EVANS

I have been asked to reply to this question. In the case of men, the 20 per cent. bonus is now merged in the higher rates of pension which take effect as from 3rd September last. In the case of officers the rates of disability retired pay have not been revised pending the further report of the Select Committee, but the Government have decided that the 20 per cent, bonus shall cease to be a temporary addition, and shall form an integral part of the retired pay of temporary officers for the next three years.
