HC Deb 04 November 1919 vol 120 c1338W
Major LANE-FOX

asked the Minister of Health if he will state at what rate it is estimated that it will be possible to let a cottage to an agricultural labourer, built under the Government Housing scheme, in the West Riding of Yorkshire; whether he is aware that the rent payable for existing cottages has been limited by the Agricultural Wages Board to 3s. per week; and how it is proposed to adjust the difference so as to allow the labourer his share in the new cottages?

Dr. ADDISON

I have recently appointed a Committee of the Housing Advisory Council to advise on the question of the rents to be charged for cottages in agricultural districts, and I understand that this Committee is now in communication with the Agricultural Wages Board.
