HC Deb 28 May 1919 vol 116 c1260W
Major BLAIR

asked the Postmaster-General if he will now adopt the system of date stamping at the office of destination and so enable the tracing of the many cases of serious delay in delivery of letters, particularly from Glasgow?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

The pre-war practice of date-stamping letters, after the first delivery, at the Post Office of destination has been re-introduced in London. I am inquiring into the delay of the letters from Glasgow.
