§ Mr. MATTHEWSasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that, since the control of wagons ceased, the hire of pre-war-built wagons has advanced from 100 to 150 per cent. and 400 per cent. above pre-war rates; and whether, having regard to the fact that these heavy charges have eventually to be borne by the consumers, he will consider the question of again fixing maximum prices at which wagons can be let?
§ Mr. NEALThe general policy with regard to private wagons is now under consideration, and meanwhile it is not proposed to reimpose control.
