HC Deb 15 December 1919 vol 123 cc77-8W
Captain W. BENN

asked the Minister of Transport whether he can see his way, in view of the congestion on the District, and Tilbury line in the busy hours of the morning and evening, to direct the Midland, Tilbury, and Southend Railway to stop their trains at all stations between Fenchurch Street and Barking to pick up and set down passengers and to run trains more frequently between those stations?

Mr. NEAL

I am informed that the line in question is being worked to its full capacity. The two suggestions made by the hon. and gallant Member are, therefore, incompatible, as stopping trains more frequently means that a less number of trains can be run over the line.
