HC Deb 21 March 1918 vol 104 c1192W
133. Captain D. HALL

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture if he has received protests from the Isle of Wight against only one centre being authorised in the island for the slaughtering and distribution of animals for food; if he will give instructions to the. Department concerned that at least one other centre shall be established in Ryde or elsewhere, for this purpose; and, if not, will he state his reasons?

Mr. CLYNES

I have been asked to reply. Arrangements are being made for the establishment of an authorised slaughter-house at Newport and Ryde for the purpose of dealing with cattle sent in for sale on a dead-weight basis.
