HC Deb 21 March 1918 vol 104 cc1191-2W
Sir J. D. REES

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Shipping Controller whether, in view of the fact that the importation of coffee has almost entirely ceased, he will endeavour to take advantage of any possible facilities which may offer in order to bring home some of the British-Indian coffee from Malabar and Coromandel ports?

Sir L. CHIOZZA MONEY

It is anticipated that all space available in the near future will be required for commodities of which there is a pressing need, and in the circumstances the Shipping Controller would not feel justified in facilitating in any way the shipment of coffee of which he understands there are at present ample stocks in this country.
