HC Deb 15 November 1917 vol 99 cc597-8W
Mr. SNOWDEN

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War if he will have an immediate and thorough inquiry into the ease of Private Smith, No. 212754, A 384 Labour Company, Royal Flying Corps, Fort Grange, Gosport, who it is alleged, when on active service in France, was repeatedly given field punishment, deprived of his pay, and actually remitted for court-martial for complaining to the doctor of illness due to an accident, which complaints were proved to be well-founded and, in consequence of which, when he came under the notice of a different doctor, he was invalided home and put in hospital; and will he have inquiry made into his present physical condition and his fitness or otherwise for further service?

Mr. FORSTER

Inquiries are being made in this case, and I will inform the hon. Member of the result as soon as possible.
