asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he has any knowledge of farms in Surrey which have been given up by the tenants because profitable cultivation has been 'made impossible by the action of the military authorities?

The Department have no knowledge of farms in Surrey having been given up for the reason stated. If my hon. Friend has any particulars and will send them to me, immediate inquiry will be made in the matter.
