HC Deb 15 February 1917 vol 90 c824W
Major NEWMAN

asked the hon. Member for Wilton, as representing the Food Controller, whether, in view of his recent announcement as to the preservation of hand-reared or wild pheasants, it is the intention of his Department to ask the Attorney-General to introduce a short Bill allowing shooting tenants to immediately cancel their leases?

Captain BATHURST

The question whether any and, if any, what legislative relief is needed in the interests of shooting tenants having regard to the enforced restrictions on the preservation of game, is under careful consideration.

Mr. G. LAMBERT

asked the hon. Member for Wilton, as representing the Food Controller, whether he will issue an order enabling occupiers of land to kill game which is destroying crops intended for human consumption?

Captain BATHURST

I must refer my right hon. Friend to the answer which I gave to a private notice question by him on the 13th instant.
