HC Deb 19 April 1917 vol 92 c1881W
Mr. P. WHITE

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland why the application of the Mcath County Council for £347 10s., it being the only money received from the Treasury for the treatment of tuberculosis, has not been granted this year, as similar estimates were since the passing of the National Health Insurance Act, 1911; and whether the granting of the amount was recommended by the Local Government Board for Ireland?

Mr. DUKE

The Treasury decided not to sanction this Grant on the advice of the Local Government Board for Ireland, with which the Irish Insurance Commissioners agreed, that the arrangements for the treatment of tuberculosis in county Meath were not satisfactory.
