HC Deb 19 April 1917 vol 92 c1841W
Mr. BYRNE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if the requests for political treatment and release of the Irish prisoners at Lewes and Aylesbury will be considered at an early date by the Government; if the Government will follow the lead of the new Russian Government in their dealings with political prisoners; whether he is aware that the immediate release of the prisoners would be of great assistance to America and would remove the feeling rapidly growing amongst Irish-Americans; and if he is aware that if this feeling was removed it would be of great benefit to the American Government and would strengthen their hands in the future progress of the War?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave on 22nd March to the hon. Member for South Devon.
