HC Deb 21 August 1916 vol 85 cc2290-1W
Mr. HEALY

asked the Secretary to the Admiralty if wounded sailors in Haslar Hospital, Gosport, are deprived of the solace of smoking; and, if so, will he inquire if the men regard this as a severe deprivation; and, if so, can the matter be remedied?

Dr. MACNAMARA

Patients at Haslar have always been allowed to smoke in the grounds, smoking sheds, and colonnades, and, in addition, permission has lately been given for men who are unable to get to any of these places to smoke in the wards.
