HC Deb 15 March 1915 vol 70 c1775W
Commander BELLAIRS

asked the Attorney-General why no action has been taken as a result of the false declarations of nationality made by Germans and Austro-Hungarians at the census of 1911?

Sir J. SIMON

I do not know to what cases of false declarations the hon. Member is referring; but even if evidence of such false declaration existed, any prosecution could only have been instituted within six months of the alleged offence.
