HC Deb 21 May 1914 vol 62 c2159W
Mr. AUGUSTINE ROCHE

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether, seeing that Louth is, and always has been, free from cattle disease of any kind, he will consider the justice of removing or modifying the restrictions imposed on the export of cattle from that county; and whether he will make inquiries with a view to opening the port of Birkenhead to stores sent from Woodside or Wallesey, in county Louth?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I am sending to the hon. Gentleman a copy of an Order made by the Board on Tuesday last, from which he will see that as from to-day cattle from county Louth may be shipped to eight British ports, including the Wallasey lairages at Birkenhead, under the normal conditions of the trade.
