HC Deb 02 April 1913 vol 51 cc395-6W
Mr. KERR-SMILEY

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland what portions of the Irish national school building Grants for the past six years were allocated for the erection of monastery-vested schools; and how many monastery schools are vested in Commissioners of National Education?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Commissioners of National Education inform me that during the six years ended 31st March, 1913 Grants to the amount of £3,933 12s. 10d. were sanctioned towards the erection of monastery-vested national schoolhouses, and that the total of the Grants sanctioned during the same period for the building of monastery and other vested national schoolhouses was £302,515 3s. 4d. There is only one monastery national school vested in the Commissioners.
