HC Deb 16 October 1912 vol 42 c1249W
Sir J. D. REES

asked the Home Secretary whether he accepted the Amendment to Clause 1 of the Criminal Law Amendment Bill because it expressed the view of the Government in the Home Department or as a matter of temporary convenience for the purpose of getting the Bill through Committee?

Mr. McKENNA

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave on Monday last to several Members, in the course of which I said that I would make a statement when the Bill comes again before the House. This would be a more convenient occasion for discussing the matter than in answer to a question.
