HC Deb 04 November 1912 vol 43 c866W
Mr. DUNDAS WHITE

asked the Prime Minister whether he will consider the advisability of proposing an Amendment to the Standing Orders with a view to providing that when a Financial Resolution is put down among the Orders of the Day the terms of that Resolution shall also appear on the Paper?

The PRIME MINISTER

I am afraid it would be impossible to give effect to the suggestion of my hon. Friend. There are Money Resolutions, such, for instance, as the Ways and Means Resolutions of the Budget, that could not possibly appear on the Paper before they are discussed. Whenever it is both possible and advisable, as in the case of the Government of Ireland Bill Money Resolution, the Government endeavours to meet the wishes of the House by placing the Money Resolution upon the Paper.
