HC Deb 04 November 1912 vol 43 c866W
Earl WINTERTON

asked the Prime Minister in how many cases during the last thirty years the legislative Veto of the Governor has been imposed upon Acts passed by the Legislature of Newfoundland?

The PRIME MINISTER

The Noble Lord will find in the House of Commons Return No. 196 of 1894, and the Returns made in continuation of it, a number of cases, some ten in all, in which His Majesty's Assent was not given to Bills passed by the Newfoundland and other Colonial Legislatures.
