HC Deb 07 March 1912 vol 35 c689W
Major HENDERSON

asked the Postmaster-General if regulations may be so framed that all charges for trunk calls and charges in connection with the telephone service may be made through the local post offices, who will be further authorised to receive payments?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

I have already made arrangements that telephone subscribers in London and Glasgow may pay accounts for telephone rentals and other charges at post offices; and the arrangements will shortly be made general throughout the United Kingdom.
