HC Deb 20 June 1912 vol 39 c1978W
Mr. KING

asked whether it is to be understood, from the reference in the National Health leaflet to Customs and Excise officers, that personal inquiries may be made of these officers about the National Insurance Act?

Mr. MASTERMAN

Inquiries about points arising in connection with the health provisions of the National Insurance Act may, in the first instance, be made personally at offices of Customs and Excise. As stated in my reply to a question on the 6th instant by my hon. Friend the Member for Kincardineshire, the duties of Customs and Excise officers include the dissemination of general information about the Act, preliminary work in connection with claims for exemption certificates, and the dealing with questions as to the rate of remuneration as affecting the contributions payable by the employer and employé respectively under Section 66 of the Act.
