HC Deb 27 February 1911 vol 22 cc164-5W
Mr. WILLIAM O'BRIEN

asked the Chief Secretary how long ago is it since the Congested Districts Board obtained possession of the untenanted lands on the estate of Mr. P. Toole at Stevenstown, Westport; how have the lands since been used; and will he say how soon the small holders on the' estate, most of whom are at present huddled together on small holdings of three statute acres, may hope to have their holdings enlarged?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Congested Districts Board have not yet got possession of any of the lands of Streamstown held by Mr. P. Toole. The delay in obtaining possession has arisen owing to the difficulties experienced by the vendor in making title. The Board cannot take possession until good title to the lands has been made.
