HC Deb 16 February 1911 vol 21 cc1430-1W
Mr. CHARLES BATHURST

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether the Board proposes, as the result of the President's recent conference with representatives of the joint-stock banks, to make use of the services of such banks in carrying out the Board's contemplated scheme for the establishment of agricultural credit banks in the rural districts; and, if so, whether, and how, it is proposed to establish the latter on a co-operative basis?

Sir E. STRACHEY

My Noble Friend the President of the Board hopes to have an opportunity before very long of explaining the conclusions at which he has arrived on this important subject. It would not be convenient to deal with it in reply to a question.
