§ Mr. CHARLES BATHURSTasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether the Board have approved or propose to approve the application of the National Sugar Beet Council or any other non-trading body or bodies for a grant out of the Development Fund in order to make experiments in the production of sugar beet on a sufficiently large scale to test its commercial possibilities in Great Britain prior to the erection of factories for its conversion into sugar; and, alternatively, whether the Board have themselves applied or propose to apply for such a grant for the above purpose?
