HC Deb 13 February 1911 vol 21 cc823-4W
Mr. LONSDALE

asked the Chief Secretary whether, having regard to the feeling of dissatisfaction existing in Ireland with reference to the state of secondary education in that country, the Government will appoint a Commission of educational experts to make a thorough investigation of the subject and draw up a scheme of reform?

Mr. BIRRELL

I am aware that a feeling of dissatisfaction exists in Ireland with reference to the state of secondary education in that country, a feeling in which I fully share. The suggestion that the Government should appoint a Commission of educational experts to investigate the subject is one which deserves consideration.
