HC Deb 28 April 1910 vol 17 c757W
Mr. DUFFY

asked the Chief Secretary whether he will consider the advisability of recommending the Estates Commissioners to handle immediately the few estates situated within the parish of Bullawn, namely: Rev. Hubert Dolphin's estate, Turoe, Bullawn, Miss Dolphin's estate, Cross, Benmore, Loughrea, and Colonel Daly's estate, Thalia, etc.; whether the parish of Bullawn consists of thirty families; and can be state how many police barracks there are, the number of policemen stationed in each barrack, and the cost to the county in maintaining this extraordinary staff in the joint parishes of Bullawn and New Inn?

Mr. BIRRELL

Proceedings for the sale of the estate of Mrs. Dolphin, executrix of the late Hubert Dolphin and others, are pending before the Estates Commissioners. The Estates will be dealt with in order of priority. The Commissioners cannot identify the lands of Thalia on any Daly estate in county Galway pending before them. I understand that there are fifty-five families in the parish of Bullawn. There is no police barrack in that parish, but. there is one, containing six police, in the parish of New Inn. There is no charge on the ratepayers of the county in respect of these men.
