Mr. GIN NELLasked the Chief Secretary if he will say, approximately, the number of land purchasers and payers of interest in lieu of rent in Ireland who are old age pensioners; the number of those who are in default; and to what extent the solvent working of the new Land Bill will depend upon an increase of old age pensions?
§ Mr. BIRRELLI have no means of knowing how many persons who are paying annuities or interest in lieu of rent under the Land Purchase Acts are in receipt of old age pensions, nor am I aware of any connection between the Old Age Pensions Act and land purchase.
