HC Deb 04 November 1909 vol 12 c2151W
Mr. ROWLANDS

asked the President of the Board of Trade, whether he can state how many applications for redress under Section 20, Sub-section 4, of The Companies (Consolidated) Act, 1908, have been made to the Board, and how many of such applications have been acceded to?

Mr. CHURCHILL

Sub-section 4 of Section 20 of the Companies (Consolidation) Act, 1908, confers power on the Board of Trade to revoke a licence to dispense with the word "Limited" at the end of the name of a company. One application only has been made for the revocation of a licence previously granted by the Board of Trade to dispense with the word "Limited," and that application was not acceded to.
